Adoption
A brief description of Amara's adoption services.
Adoption Services from Amara
For nearly 90 years, Amara has offered adoption services to families from all walks of life. We believe there is no substitute for safe, nurturing families to ensure that children grow up to be healthy, confident, loving and contributing adults.
As specialists in adoption based in Seattle, Washington, we have watched thousands of children blossom in the warmth and stability of their new adoptive homes. Request an information packet to learn more about Amara and how we can support you in your adoption journey.
- The Families We Serve: We have no single definition of “family.” We are proud to offer our services to everyone age 21 or older, regardless of marital status, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, home ownership, income or education.
- The Children We Serve: The children we place in adoptive homes come from a variety of backgrounds. Many are in foster care for their safety and protection. We also serve newborns who have been relinquished directly to Amara’s care.
- Our Process: Amara follows a thoughtful, comprehensive adoption process, based on decades of experience, to create the best possible fit for both children and parents. Our experience and high standards ensure families get the training, support and services they need throughout their adoption journey. Learn more about our process.
“The Amara families are universally well prepared for placements. Unlike any other agency, Amara's staff proactively connects with receiving families and our clinical staff to facilitate transitions before the children even arrive to ensure the best start for the new family.
