A Home for Every Child

Amara’s mission is to end the grief, trauma, and uncertainty children in foster care face every day by finding them what they need most—a home. Our vision is to dramatically increase the number of foster children we place in adoptive homes, focusing on siblings, children of color, and older children.  With your help, we can give many more children in foster care a family of their own forever.

Make a Charitable Bequest

Naming Amara in your will is a wonderful way to continue a legacy of philanthropy.  Simply add the following suggested language to your will:

I hereby bequeath to Amara, a nonprofit public benefit corporation of the state of Washington with tax identification number 91-0577487, the sum of _____________ dollars (or otherwise describe the gift or assets) for its charitable purposes at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

Gifts of stocks and bonds

Amara accepts gifts of stock and bonds. Your gift is tax deductible and you avoid capital gains taxes. Email meganm@amaraparenting.org instructions and account information.

Matching Gifts

Many companies match charitable gifts made by their employees. If you company or organization matches donations, contact your Human Resources department to obtain a matching gifts form. Return your form to:

Make an Honorary Gift

Celebrate a friend, relative or colleague by making a gift to Amara in their honor. Simply note that your gift is in honor of someone special and include their address in the “comments” section of our online donation form. You will receive a receipt for your donation and your friend will receive a personal card from Amara letting them know you have made a thoughtful gift in their name. (The amount of your contribution will be kept confidential.)
